PhD Candidate, CEES

Background

I do not think people generally fall in love at first sight with coding computer models, but my past experience has made me realize that I at least have a strong liking for and deep interest in the quantitative aspects of population ecology. I am fascinated particularly by how population models can be used to determine the effects of changing environments on individuals, populations and species, and this fascination is what brought me all the way to Norway.

My role in SUSTAIN

During my PhD within the SUSTAIN project, I will model environment and harvest impacts on demography and population dynamics of the Mjøsa Brown trout and Svalbard Arctic Fox, and use these models to come up with strategies for sustainable harvest in the face of climate change.
